Diana Observation Tower

Two years earlier, the cable car was completed, which still serves its purpose and takes you to the lookout tower every quarter of an hour during the day. The Stará louka boarding station is located in Mariánská Street, just a short walk from the Grandhotel Pupp. The cable car, with one intermediate station Jelení skok, will overcome an elevation gain of 167 m on its way. You can find an overview of them on the map of the information board on the Vřídelní Colonnade. They are marked with different colors according to difficulty and length, so everyone can choose according to their abilities. The trails are regularly maintained and also suitable for cyclists.

At the top of the hill, you will then climb 150 steps to the observation deck. But even here the builder thought of those who can not or do not want to climb these stairs, and so there is also an elevator. The wooden walkway is located at a height of 35 m and the view is really beautiful. You can see Karlovy Vary, especially its spa part, the valley of the rivers Ohře and Teplá, in the distance the peaks of the Ore Mountains, the Doupov Mountains or the Slavkov Forest.

Along with the lookout tower, the Diana forest restaurant was built, where you can have a snack. This is also the work of František Fousek, who conceived it as a hunting lodge with one main and two side halls. In the main hall there is a large fireplace, which in the cold season completes the pleasant romantic atmosphere of this place. In the summer months, guests can also use the outdoor terrace.

Admission to the lookout tower is free and those interested can visit it all year round, except in January, when it is out of order.
