The history of the lookout tower in Dobrošov began to be written as early as 1895, when a cottage with a brick tower 6 meters high was built here by the Czech Tourist Club. Its grand opening took place on October 28, 1895.

In the vicinity of the cottage was the opportunity to practice winter sports, so the whole building was very popular at the time. Even so large that its capacity was no longer enough for tourists. For this reason, the Czech Tourists Club asked Dušan Jurkovič to build a project for a new tourist cottage. It was completed in 1912, but because the construction did not take place due to war events, the construction was not completed until 1921.

The foundation stone for the lookout tower was laid in July, on the occasion of the Jirásek Festival. A leaf written by Alois Jirásek is hidden directly in the stone. The construction was completed in September 1923. It was officially opened to the public on December 1.

A year later, in 1924, a building was built near the cottage, providing additional accommodation, also according to the design of Dušan Jurkovič. In 1929, a summer porch was added to the cottage, a telephone and a water supply system were introduced.

From 1937, the cottage began to serve Czechoslovakia. reopened to the army and to the public only after the Munich Agreement.
In the period after the Second World War, the building changed owners many times. In the early 1990s, the building was purchased by the District Office in Náchod, from which it was purchased by the Czech Tourists Club. The building then underwent extensive repairs and was opened on September 14, 2002.
