Interesting facts Klánovice Forest - Cyrilov

The Klánovice Forest, also called Vidrholec or Fiedrholec, stands on the eastern edge of Prague. Between the villages of Klánovice, Újezd nad Lesy and Úvaly. The yellow and red tourist sign, the A25 and A50 cycle path and the nature trail through the Klánovice forest will guide you through the nature reserve.


The area of the Klánovický les - Cyrilov nature reserve is 397 ha and lies at an altitude of 230 - 270 m. The forest was declared a nature reserve in January 1982.


Spontaneous hybrids of birches and stands of kneeless oaks grow here. Oak stands predominate, but you will also find spruces, larch and pines. In some places also hornbeams. Hares, foxes, roe deer and black game thrive here very well. More than 60 species of birds nest here. In ponds and wetlands you will find rare species of plants.
