A wooden lookout tower once stood in the village of Bílov, which was not demolished until the 1950s. It did not stand on Kanihůr, but on the highest point of Bílov. The municipality of Bílov wanted to renew the tradition of ownership of the lookout tower, so it applied for it in 2003. However, the request was not heard until two years later, in 2005, by T-Mobile, which had a reinforced concrete body built here, serving signal transmission between Ostrava and Olomouc and including a viewing platform.

Construction took place from July to November 2005 and the grand opening took place on Thursday, May 18, 2006.
The administrator of the lookout tower is the village of Bílov.
