The Hlučín-Darkovičky CS Fortification Complex

The area of Czechoslovakia. The Hlučín - Darkovičky fortification is a very important military - technical monument, which is very highly valued in Europe. This is a unique example of the fortress system of the former Czechoslovakia, whose construction took place between 1935 and 1938.

The whole area is located in the northeast of Hlučín, between the villages of Hať and Darkovičky. It is about 13 km north of Ostrava.


The area consists of:

• Log cabin MO-S18
• Log cabin MO-S19
• Log cabin MO-S20
• Light object vz.37 A

The individual objects differ from each other in design and firing-tactics and were also built in various degrees of resistance. The complexity and the aforementioned presentation of the whole is unique, as well as the opportunity to meet the renewers of the complex in person.

At present, various commemorative and meeting events are held here, and since 1991, in cooperation with units of the Czech Army, demonstrations of fortress defense, discussions with witnesses and an educational trail along the fortification line have been held here every year.

The nature trail is a total of approx. 6.5 km and is suitable for both hiking and cycling trips. It starts at the infantry cabin MO-S 16 "Crossroads", leads around other buildings and ends at the cabin MO-S 24 "Signal".

Since 1992, the area of ​​Czechoslovakia. fortification Hlučín-Darkovičky incorporated into the Silesian Museum. It has been reconstructed since 1980.
