Interesting facts Silesian Ostrava Castle

The history of the Silesian-Ostrava Castle is by no means cheerful, but as perhaps with the monuments in the Ostrava region. Practically immediately after coal mining, the castle began to decay and due to mining it even fell 16 meters deeper. The Communists even issued a demolition order for it in the 1950s, but fortunately it was not carried out. Today, the castle is basically a large cultural center and a number of events are held here, starting with the famous Colors of Ostrava festival and ending with the Shakespearean festivities.
