Prague Troja Botanical Garden

The Troja Botanical Garden in the capital city of Prague was founded on January 1, 1969. Over the years, an extensive collection of woody plants, peonies, irises and, last but not least, bonsai was created here, which was the first in the country to be grown here. However, since 1992, it has remained almost inaccessible to the public. Today, visitors can admire the Ornamental Garden, the Japanese Garden, the Peony Meadow or the North American semi-desert with cacti and succulents. In 2004, the Fata Morgana tropical greenhouse was inaugurated. Also worth seeing is the vineyard of St. Klára, from which there is a beautiful panoramic view of Prague. Wine from the vineyard is also processed in the botanical garden and visitors can buy it in the wine shop located in the vineyard house.
