Interesting facts Javoříčské caves

A substantial part of the caves was discovered in 1938, but since time immemorial the parts of the Holy Hole and the Abyss of Zátvořice have been known. The underground system consists of a complicated complex of corridors, domes and abysses which are in several height levels. The length of all known corridors exceeds 4 km with a height range of over 60 m.
The Javoříčské caves were formed during the Tertiary period, when the ceilings caused the collapse of ceilings and walls and the creation of large domes. The Špraněk and Javořičky streams also took part in the development.

The caves are definitely worth a visit, because they have a very unique, well-preserved and diverse stalactite decoration. It is thus one of the most beautiful caves in the Czech Republic. Of interest are the stalactites growing against the laws of gravity. They are variously curved or spirally twisted. This is due to the strong air flow.
