Interesting facts Sendraž lookout tower on Varta
It was built on the site of the original wooden lookout tower from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It served its purpose for a long time, but in the 1950s, the designers came to the conclusion that it was in a state of disrepair and needed to be demolished. Nothing happened for many decades, until in 2007 Vodafone built a new all-metal structure here. However, it was not made available to the public until less than two years later, in 2009.
The lookout tower is 50 meters high and the observation deck is located at a height of 23.8 meters. Its 145 steps can be quite busy, but the view from here is fabulous. Who wouldn't want to see the Rozkoš valley reservoir or Javoří mountains from here? And what to see from here Kunětická mountain, Krkonoše, Dobrošov or Ještěd? All you need is a little luck, good weather and you will certainly melt away with bliss.
It is certainly interesting that the whole building is guarded by a camera system. It is closed in the wind and heavy rain and prohibits access to underage drinkers and children under five years of age without a supervised adult. If you are interested in the stamp of the lookout tower in the collection, it is available in the U Floriána pub in the village of Sendraž, half a kilometer away. So come here. The lookout tower is really worth a visit.
