Lookout tower on Skřivánčí vrch near Málkov

This 16-meter-high lookout tower was officially opened in June 2011. A total of 87 steps lead to the viewing platform. The lookout tower is freely accessible and open daily without restrictions.

It provides a view mainly to the south, namely to surface lignite mines, to the Prunéřov and Tušimice power plants, to the Nechratická dam, the Džbán mountains, etc.

If you come to the lookout tower on the road connecting Karlovy Vary and Chomutov, turn from it to Zelená, which you drive towards the village of Lideň. The forest ends at the end of Zelená. Just after him, turn right onto a wide forest path. It leads with a slight ascent of about half a kilometer to the lookout tower. You can park your car at a nearby nursing home.

The local lookout tower was created on the initiative of the then mayor, Mr. Bursa. He came up with this idea in 2005 and two years later there is talk of a lookout tower more specifically. The tower was originally planned to be 25 meters high, but it was later reduced to approximately 12 meters. Because this height would again be too low due to the surrounding mature trees, a lookout tower 16 meters high was eventually built. The author of the project is Ing. Miloslav Čáp.

The structure weighs 7.2 tons and is galvanized on the inside.

The grand opening of the lookout tower took place on June 16, 2011.
