Interesting facts Pilgrimage place Studánka u Dobrušky

The well near Dobruška can be found on the left bank of the stream, which flows into the river Dědina. This place is about 3 km southeast of Dobruška.

Every place of pilgrimage is associated with a miraculous event, and the same is true of Studánka.

The miraculous healing of the Dobruš brewer

The miracle happened to a brewer from Dobruška at this place. He became blind in 1699 and could not be helped. One night he had a dream in which the Virgin Mary appeared to him and advised him to go wash with water from a nearby well. For three nights he did not pay attention to the advice of the Virgin Mary from his dream, but her incentive kept bothering him. In the end, he and his wife set out to look for the place.

He finally stayed at the well for three days and finally really recovered. Miraculously, his eyesight was restored and the event immediately began to spread throughout the region. Then the chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary was built on this miraculous place, to which a spa was later added. Nowadays, after you take the Stations of the Cross, you will come across a baroque chapel with a hexagonal floor plan.

Healing spring of Studánka

In 1741, the spring of water in Studánka u Dobrušky and its healing abilities were professionally researched. At that time, the erudite medical commission really proved the beneficial effects of water, and since then Studánka has been a popular place of pilgrimage.

The place itself, like almost any place of pilgrimage, has a mystically soothing impression. The white chapel stands in the shade of trees and there is also a statue of Jan Nepomucký, who is depicted as a pilgrim on the way to Stará Boleslav.
