Interesting facts Exhibition Napoleon Austerlitz Slavkov near Brno

The exhibition "Austerlitz - a small town of great history" is dedicated to the Battle of Austerlitz and the Napoleonic Wars. The exhibition is located in the former stables of the forecourt of Austerlitz Castle. The stables, consisting of two interconnected buildings that have been comprehensively renovated as part of the project, enable an imaginative solution for the exhibition.

What did it look like in the middle of one of the bloodiest battles in European history? How heavy and complex is the saber or rifle of a Russian, French or Austrian soldier? Why did the city, known in Bohemia, Moravia and in the world also under the name Austerlitz, attract so many important personalities and families? Not only you can find out and experience it in the reconstructed castle stables and riding stables at the Slavkov - Austerlitz Castle, where an exposition called Austerlitz - a small town of great history is open.

In large areas, there are not only unique historical artifacts, but also televisions with sample videos or a plastic model with a projection of the battle. There is, for example, the rare ceremonial saber of Marshal Radecký or the posthumous mask of Napoleon. The last room is already purely interactive - not only children can try out how heavy the soldiers' weapons were, or they can put on their hats or tornadoes.

The exhibition also includes a diorama, which draws visitors directly into the action of the battle thanks to its engaging stage design and video projection. In addition to artifacts from private collections and Czech and Moravian museums, the exhibition also features unique objects from the extensive Austerlitz depository.
