Interesting facts Birthplace of K. J. Erben in Miletín

As you know, Erben inseparably includes a collection of poems, Bouquets from National Legends. Everyone surely knows the Treasure or the Wedding Shirt. Vodník also belongs to the school's classical reading. The poet was inspired to write by his hometown and its legends. We can meet some of his characters on the nature trail leading from his birth house to the cemetery. The route measures less than five kilometers. The characters are made of wood and are located in picturesque places, from where you need a nice view of the city, as is the case with a horse rider as the king of the poem The Golden Wheel.

A memorial plaque in honor of Erben's personality was ceremoniously unveiled on the house in 1899, and two years later the square shone with an eight-meter statue that would not have been created had it not been for the collections of the city's own citizens. They were always rightly proud of their native.

And what can you see in the house? Home furniture, family monuments and watercolors for Erben's ballads. The visit must be ordered. Everything can be found on the Miletín website.
