Water reservoir Rozkoš

One of the water landmarks of the Hradec Králové Region is undoubtedly the Rozkoš valley reservoir in the Náchod district. With its almost 1000 hectares and an average depth of 10 meters, it is one of the largest in our country. In Eastern Bohemia, it occupies the first place, in the total sum, the eighth ranking in terms of area. Its construction began in 1965 and in 1972 the work was completed. However, thoughts on its implementation were born many years earlier. The records speak of 1923, then of the pre-war years. However, she was born many years later. It is a shield protecting the surroundings during floods and also brings water to the Opatovice power plant in the Pardubice region.
