Břidličná

The protection of the area is located in the massif of Břidličná hora, Pecný and Jelení ridges in the southwestern part of the main ridge of Hrubý Jeseník. It covers an area of 651.9 ha and is directly connected to the Praděd National Nature Reserve and the Pod Jelení studánkou Nature Reserve. It was declared a nature reserve in 2008.

Interesting facts Břidličná

Subalpine habitats, rock cabins, rubble and stone streams are protected here. Also species associated with these ecosystems. The aim is to reduce the kneeling pine and gradually bring the forest stands closer to the natural state and enable their spontaneous development. Juniper, whose population is the largest in the Czech Republic, is doing very well in the reserve. Furthermore, the watercress, engravers and cones. You will also find several dozen bitterly spotted, raised stripe or yellow violet.


From the animal kingdom, they found the nesting place of the mountain lynx, the white-tailed deer, the blackbird and the peregrine falcon. The relict butterfly, mountain bull, is also worth a visit.
