Kersko

Strengthen yourself with the healing spring of St. Josef, from which the writer Bohumil Hrabal also drank.
Kersko Nature Park can be found in the Central Bohemian Region, in the Nymburk district. It covers an area 7.5 km long and 5 km wide. It lines the D11 motorway on the south side.

Interesting facts Kersko

Pine and birch stands on the gravel-sand base of the Elbe floodplain are protected here. Furthermore, the surrounding open spaces of the Elbe agricultural landscape and the landscape landmark of the Sadský hill with the church of St. Apolináře.


In the western part of the Kersky forest you can taste the mineral spring of St. Josefa. An important locality is Kerské rybníčky, where there is a large population of newts. On the western border of the nature park there is the national natural monument Slatinná louka u Velenky, where leafless flax and a rare mud gladiolus grow. On the northeastern edge you will find the natural monument Písečný přesyp u Píst, which protects one of the last preserved sand dunes in the Elbe.
