Since 1850, Rokycany has been a district town, and in 1862 the aforementioned Prague - Pilsen railway line was opened here, thanks to which industrial growth was revived, while a sugar factory, sawmills, smelters were opened and several schools were established.

In the 20th century, in May 9, 1945, the Allied armies of the anti-fascist coalition met in Rokycany.
