Interesting facts Růžový palouček

A place steeped in legends

There are a number of legends associated with Růžový palouček, the first of which is related to its very origin, which is allegedly linked to the event of the Czech Brothers' departure abroad. Here they prayed for the last time, buried the golden chalice, and the roses were said to have grown from their shed tears.

The pink stick is certainly known to everyone who has ever read Jirásek's Old Czech Legends, in which you will find a mention of this place, resp. rumors associated with it. However, they all tell the same about the terrible misfortune that will befall anyone who would like to destroy or damage this sacred place. One farmer once tried to pluck a stick. However, his horse broke his leg, the plow broke, and the farmer found a dead woman at home and a drowned child in the tub. During the Napoleonic Wars, a soldier wanted to pluck a rose from a stick. Unfortunately, he tripped and was killed by his own weapon.

Perhaps it is precisely the legends or perhaps the uniqueness of this place, but in any case, all visitors treat it with great respect.

Current form

Originally, the meadow had an area of about 350 m2, was located near fields and forests and has long grown French roses. In 1906, the land was bought by the Association for the Acquisition of the Pink Stick, which gradually gave the place its current appearance.

At present, you will find a copper monument to the Czech Brothers and a planted park full of beautiful roses.
