Interesting facts Chateau Boskovice

Lovers of culture and especially history will certainly be attracted by a visit to the Boskovice Empire chateau. The chateau building itself was preceded by the construction of a 17th century Dominican monastery exclusively for women.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the Dietrichštějn family deserved an excellent reconstruction in favor of a purely chateau character. Before the construction of the chateau began, the Dietrichsteins transformed the chateau into a manufactory intended for the production of paints, but the factory lasted only thirty years.

Who is responsible for the architecture of the castle is not entirely certain, there is speculation about the architects Petr de Nobile or Josef Esch. However, we can thank Josef Hájek for today's appearance of the castle park.

In the chateau rooms you will find a ladies' salon, noble offices or a family room. The library, which has over 10,000 volumes, is very valuable.
