Interesting facts Raduň chateau

From the Zeman fortress to the Classicist residence
Get to know the history of the castle. Until the 16th century, there was a Zeman fortress in the village of Raduň, belonging to the lords of Kravaře. A Renaissance chateau was built on its site. The chateau was surrounded by farms and prospered, but in later years a number of owners changed here and the chateau began to decay. It was not until the third of the 19th century that repairs and reconstructions took place in the spirit of Classicism. The chateau and the Blücher family gained social prestige, having both the interior and exterior of the chateau significantly changed. After 1945, the castle became the property of the state.

The castle was supplemented during the reconstruction
As part of the reconstruction, other buildings were added to the original farmyard, forest park, ponds and brewery. It was an orangery, a fig tree and a pineapple, and a sheepfold was added to them even later. You can visit these facilities as part of the tour, as well as the private and common rooms in the main building. The overall appearance of the chateau was also changed by the two-storey fortification wall, which was added in the 19th century.

Radun as the rural seat of the princes
The castle in Radun is gradually being restored and should present a rural princely residence, on the example of which you can get acquainted with the social and personal customs of the manor and the functioning of the castle during occasional stays of the nobility in the countryside. The whole preserved area shows what the manor house looked like and what the operational facilities must have had - including the service area designated for the servants.
