Prášily Botanical Garden

In West Bohemian Prášily we find the highest botanical garden in the Czech Republic. The exhibition is only outdoor and is located at an altitude of 875 meters and an area of ​​about 1.5 hectares. The garden was founded in 2005 and currently grows about 5,000 different species of plants not only from Europe but also from other continents of the world. The construction architect and author of the whole project is the landscape architect Miloš Šeda.

Interesting facts Prášily Botanical Garden

The Prášily Botanical Garden is a private rock botanical garden, which is open to the public. At present, the garden is expanding and transforming into a rock botanical garden.

Permanent exhibition of the garden

Within the permanent exhibition, it is possible to see one of the largest collections of daffodils in the Czech Republic, various woody plants, perennials, bulbs, rock gardens from all over the world and plants from Šumava. There are heathland habitats, peatland habitats, drought-loving and aquatic plants. In addition, there are peat ponds or a bird house.

The whole architectural solution of the garden is very interesting. In addition to plants, the garden also features works of art by various authors and there are even some interactive works, which will delight children in particular.

The Prášily Botanical Garden is open to visitors from spring to autumn every day from 8 am to 6 pm. Admission is free and right next to the garden there is a corral with real American bison.
