Interesting facts State chateau Benesov nad Ploucnici

The castle is built in the style of the Saxon Renaissance, which visited Bohemia with the Salhausen family. The Salhausen nobility came from Meissen, which was widely famous for its famous porcelain. Perhaps on each of our castles you will find original and truly imaginative pieces of this brand.

Bedřich of Salhausen, who built the so-called Horní zámek in the 16th century, was responsible for the establishment of Benešov nad Ploučnicí. After that, Bedřich continued with the construction of the chateau and planned to build a seat for his son Jan, which is today's Dolní zámek. The Salhausen family also contributed Wolf's wing, which we can rightly consider a Renaissance gem. Subsequently, the castle was taken over by another owner, who unfortunately did not continue construction.

During the tour you can see porcelain, weapons, paintings and other objects, all from the Renaissance period. Proof of the Renaissance is the period furnishings of both castles.
