Boušín in Náchod region - church and well

There are countless wells with healing effects in our country. But only one of them appears in Grandmother, the most famous work of Božena Němcová. Her water was supposed to be able to heal every traveler, in this case the deaf-mute Jewish girl Justynka. An admirable event is associated with the year 1434. If you follow its path, ie Justynka's path, which begins in Slatina nad Úpou, you will walk to the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Boušín from the second half of the 12th century.

Interesting facts Boušín in Náchod region - church and well

The sanctuary is built in the Gothic style and does not even have a tower. An interesting feature of the trail is the mentioned place of miraculous healing - the Marian Chapel with a well. Until 2007, her bowels were decorated with a statuette of a kneeling girl, but then she was stolen by someone unknown. The solitude of Boušín, which includes a cemetery, parish, chapel, church and four residential houses, was captured in the novel chronicle U nás by Alois Jirásek. The same motif appears many years later in Moskalyk's film Grandmother, made in the 1970s.
