Interesting facts Jeseník - Vápenná - Žulová + Back train

From the town of Jeseník, more precisely its western edge, set off on the cycle route No. 6042 to Lázně Jeseník. It is a famous resting place, a new balneo park is available for visitors. Of course there is a spa colonnade, hotel and restaurant.

However, you continue on the bike path. The panorama with the Jesenice peaks and the view of the landscape will brighten you up with a fairly steep climb, as the path leads mostly through unforested sections. After a while, the climb will stabilize and you will enter the forest. After about 5 kilometers drive you will come to a crossroads to the caves Na pomezí. It is a karst area with 5 caves that can be seen.

The next section of your trip leads exclusively through forest areas with a gentler ascent. The advantage is a quality asphalt surface. After leaving the forest, the village of Vápenná begins. It is very long, and you will pass it quickly, because the road descends here, or leads along the plain. The surroundings of Vápenná are interwoven with several dozen quarries, some of which are flooded and suitable for swimming.

The cycle route will take you through the whole village and you will continue along it. The railway line is intertwined around - the local section will be a bit flatter than the previous one. At the same time, the route is also lined by the local river Vidnávka. The crossing between the two villages is more or less imperceptible, they follow each other smoothly.

The town of Žulová, known especially to lovers of natural swimming and campers, is, as in the case of Vápenná, surrounded by a number of quarries, especially from the eastern direction. However, there is more to see than just quarries. For example, the relatively well-preserved ruins of Frýdberk and Kaltenštejn castles, the church on Boží hora - exceptional in its architecture, the national natural monument Borový vrch - in the upper parts of the cliff or the more distant Nýznerovské waterfalls. From Źulová it is possible to travel by train via Jeseník to Olomouc or Brno.
