Travičná lookout tower near Tvarožná Lhota

The iron lookout tower on Travičná near Tvarožná Lhota serves not only for tourist purposes but also as a transmitter for mobile operators. It is located on the hill Travičná about 2 km from the village Tvarožná Lhota to the southeast and about 20 km from Hodonín to the northeast. The lookout tower was officially opened on April 29, 2001.

The lookout tower is located at an altitude of 380 meters. Its total height is 52.6 meters. The viewing platform is located at a height of 33.6 meters and offers a view of the southwest side towards Hodonín and Pálava. Towards the northwest you can see Ždánice Forest and Chřiby. You can also see the castle Buchlov and the chapel of St. Barbory. To the north you can see the lakes near Ostrožská Nová Ves and behind Veselí nad Lužnicí you can also see Uherské Hradiště and Hostýn. The northwest side will offer you a pilgrimage site Svatý Antoníček near Blatnice. It is also possible to see the White Carpathians with the highest point Velká Javořina.
A total of 177 steps lead to the viewing platform.

You can easily reach the lookout tower. If you are driving from Strážnice, head to Tvarožná Lhota and continue to the Lučina reservoir. The path leads by an ascent, at the end of which there is a turn to the lookout tower.

The construction of the tower was initiated by Eurotel. Based on an agreement between this company and the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area Administration, an observation deck for tourists was built on the tower, so that the tower serves as a lookout tower and transmitter for all three mobile operators.

The lookout tower was built by the company VALPO Zlín s.r.o. Construction began in 2000 and was completed the same year, within four months. The construction was designed by Ing. Josef Pivoda.

The official opening took place on April 29, 2001. The Travičná lookout tower thus became the first lookout tower located in the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area.

When visiting the lookout tower, in addition to the view from the tower, you will also be able to see exhibitions focused on the local region. You will get acquainted with plants, geology and animals in the White Carpathians, you will learn something about the mill in Kuželov and the local folk traditions of Horňácko.
