Interesting facts Rumburak lookout tower near Bítov

The lookout tower at the foot of the Great Hill is part of the Rumburak guest house and is located by the road to Bítov Castle, about 35 km from Znojmo. It is located at an altitude of 440 meters and was officially opened to tourists on July 4, 2009.

The lookout tower with a total height of 30 meters has an observation platform located at a height of 26 meters above the ground and a total of 145 steps lead to it. From the tower there is a nice view of the Vranov dam and its surroundings. If the weather is good, you will also see the peaks of the Alps. Cartoon maps on the observation deck will help you with orientation.

You would find a lookout tower about half a kilometer in front of Bítov Castle directly on the driveway. You can easily get to the lookout tower, as it is already very visible from a distance.

The Rumburak lookout tower is open all year round. In the summer season from 10 am to 6 pm, but if agreed in advance, you can visit it even after 6 pm. In the winter season it is open from 10 am to 4 pm.

The surroundings of the Vranovská dam can boast of this tourist lookout tower since the middle of 2009. At that time, this lookout tower also became a new part of the Rumburak guest house.

The lookout tower was created on the initiative of the Pysks, the owners of the pension. Their original intention was to build a lookout tower by the Zámiš pond, but this idea was never implemented due to the disagreement of the city council that the building be located in the recreational zone.

The Pysks bought a guest house under construction here, which they reconstructed with the help of EU subsidies. In addition to the pension, they have also set up a restaurant, bowling alley, sports complex, swimming pool and summer terrace. Since mid-2009, there is also a brick prismatic lookout tower. It was named Rumburak after the Pyskov pet, Rumburak's raven. You will find a relief of a raven even at the top of the tower, and its statue by Michal Olšiak is located at the entrance to the guest house.
