The lookout tower on Černá Studnica and the cottage near it have always been a popular place for tourists. Until 1905, there was only a stone platform with steps. It was modified in 1885 by the German Mountain Association for the Ještěd and Jizera Mountains. From the platform was a circular view from the ridge.

The Jablonec section of the Mountain Association longed for the construction of a cottage with a lookout tower. However, the association's headquarters in Liberec invested in the construction of Ještěd, so it did not want any further investment. For this reason, Jablonec tourists left the Liberec section and founded the Mountain Association for Jablonec and its surroundings. In the same year, a competition was announced for the construction of a lookout tower and inn, in which the architect Hemmrich won. The construction was carried out in 1904. The cottage with a lookout tower was first opened to the public on 14 August 1905. The lookout tower was 26 meters high and 160 cm thick masonry. The capacity of the adjacent inn gradually stopped trying, and so it was expanded in 1930.

At present, tourists can visit not only the lookout tower, but also the nearby restaurant and small arboretum, which was opened at the top of the tower in 2009 by the company Lesy ČR.
