The brick lookout tower in Tábor is part of the pension. It was opened in 1911 and after reconstruction again in 2007. It is built at an altitude of 678 meters and is located on the hill Tábor, about 5 km south of Lomnice nad Popelkou.

The lookout tower with a total height of 35 meters has an observation platform located at a height of 26 meters. A total of 145 steps lead up to it and a circular view of the Jizera Mountains, Bohemian Paradise, the Giant Mountains, Prague, Jičín, the Eagle Mountains and others opens up.

From the surrounding villages you can walk to the lookout on marked hiking trails. There is also a cycle path No. 4017. You can also get here by car, from the road in the direction of Lomnice nad Popelkou - Jičín. Before Ploužnice, turn right and continue up the hill for about 3 km through Chlum to Tábor.

The lookout tower in Tábor first stood in 1888. It had a decorative association built here. It was a 22 meter high beam structure. However, due to the unfortunate influence of the weather, the lookout tower fell into disrepair and in 1897 it had to be completely demolished.
The second lookout tower was created mainly on the initiative of Josef Tichánek, executive of the ornamental association. The lookout tower was built and opened to the public on September 17, 1911. In total, the lookout tower was 35 meters high and was named Tichánkova.
In the early 1990s, the cottage and the lookout tower fell into the hands of speculators. In 1995, they were closed to the public. The buildings were in a very bad condition, which even provoked thoughts of demolishing the buildings.


In 2002, Mr. Jaroslav Sobota also bought a cottage with a lookout tower, who started repairs in 2005. A guest house grew out of an old cottage. The repair of the lookout tower followed in 2006 and lasted until the following year. Its total height increased by 3 meters due to the location of technological equipment. After reconstruction, the lookout tower was reopened on May 1, 2007.
