The iron lookout tower on Velká Čantoryja is located about 4 km from Nýdek to the northeast and about 40 km from Frýdek-Místek to the east. It is built at an altitude of 995 meters and its total height is 29 meters.

After climbing 118 steps, you will find yourself on a viewing platform at a height of 21.4 meters above the ground and you will have a magical view of the Polish and Czech sides. In the Polish one there are the cities of Wisla and Ustroń and in the Czech one there are Český Těšín, Třinec and Ostrava. If there is good visibility, you can see the highest peak of the Orava Beskydy, Babí hora. If you are really lucky with the nice weather, you can also see Praděd, Roháče or Mala Fatra in Slovakia.

The best way to get to the lookout tower is from Nýdek, if you follow the green or red tourist sign. You can also get here by cable car from the Polish town of Ustroń. In any case, prepare for an elevation gain of 600 meters.

The border mountain Velká Čantoryje rises to a height of 995 meters above sea level. It is located in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains and in addition to the lookout tower you will also find a tourist cottage. The author of the lookout tower project is Ing. Vladimír Műller from the Frýdek-Místek company INPRO. The galvanized steel structure, weighing 37 tons, was then prepared by Třinecké železárny. The construction took place from July to October 2002. Near the lookout tower, tourists will be served by a shelter for rest and a log cabin with refreshments.


On November 23, 2002, hockey player Richard Král christened the new lookout tower. Its total height is 29 meters and a total of 118 steps lead to the viewing platform. At present, this lookout tower is operated by Tawo CZ, s.r.o.


Thanks to the close distance of neighboring Poland, this lookout tower is frequently visited by tourists from Poland. If you go here, you can go to see the spa town of Ustron in Poland, from where there is also a cable car to the lookout tower.

Opening hours depend on the time of year.
