The iron lookout tower on Svatý kopeček near Olomouc has been standing since 1974. However, it was opened only a year later, in May 1975. The lookout tower is located in the area of ​​the local zoo, approximately 5 km north-west of Olomouc.

The lookout tower is located at an altitude of 378 meters and its total height is 32 meters. You can reach the viewing platform by climbing 128 steps. From a height of 27 meters above the ground there is a nice view of Olomouc, the White Carpathians, Hostýn Hills, Chřiby, Hana and the Jeseníky Mountains.

You can easily get to the lookout tower from Olomouc. Just go in the direction of Šternberk and in the local part of Chválkovice turn right to Svatý kopeček. There will be a car park on your right.

The lookout tower has the same opening hours as the Zoo, but is closed during the winter. In January and February you can get to the lookout tower between 9 am and 4 pm, in March between 9 am and 5 pm, from April to August between 9 am and 6 pm, in September between 9 am and 5 pm and from October to December between 9 and 16 o'clock.

The lookout tower provides visitors to the zoo to see it all from above. It has a steel structure and provides a view from a height of 27 meters above the ground. The holy hill on which it is located is also known for its local basilica, which was built in 1972-1974. It stands on a triangular floor plan and was opened in May 1975.

Originally, the lookout tower was clad with metal plates. However, they were removed in 2000 and the tower was painted.
