Interesting facts Lookout on the rock
This iron transmitter of the mobile operator, built in 2000, began to serve as a tourist lookout tower in 2001. It is located on the hill Na Skále, at an altitude of 672 meters. It is about half a kilometer away from the settlement of Železný Újezd. It lies about 3 km north of Čížkov and about 25 km southeast of Pilsen.
A total of 137 steps lead to the viewing platform at a height of 25.7 meters. From the tower you will have a beautiful view of the panorama of Šumava, Třemšín, Zelená Hora, Radyna, Temelín and part of Pilsen. The total height of the lookout tower is 41 meters.
You can easily get to the lookout tower by car if you turn at the marked turn-off from the Přešín-Železný Újezd road. A forest path leads to the lookout tower. This road is also identical with the cycle route No. 2149, which connects to the cycle route No. 2039.
In the period from April to October, you can visit the lookout tower from 9 am to 8 pm.
It is a transmitter of standardized construction, standing on a hill called Na Skále. The municipal office of Čížkov set the condition for the company that built the tower here that it must also serve as a tourist lookout tower. The construction was completed in the autumn of 2000 and was officially opened to tourists on March 31, 2001.
The operator of the lookout tower is the village of Čížkov.
