The iron lookout tower at Vysoká near Kutná Hora also serves as a transmitter for the mobile operator. It is located on the Vysoká hill near Miskovice and about 7 km west of Kutná Hora. The lookout tower is built at an altitude of 470 meters and has been performing its function since April 30, 2002.

The lookout tower is 32 meters high and a total of 144 steps lead to the observation platform at a height of 25 meters. The view is offered by part of Kutnohorsko and Železné hory. If the visibility is good, you can also see Sněžka, Praděd and Ještěd.

You can get here from Miskovice or from the settlement of Vysoká by following the green tourist sign.

During the holidays, the lookout tower is open daily except Mondays from 10 am to 6 pm. In low season it is only open on weekends from 11 am to 4 pm.

Lookout towers, which also serve for the transmission of the signal of mobile operators, are no exception in our republic, and the lookout tower on Vysoká u Kutná Hora is also one of them. It is located near the village of Miskovice, which you would look for on the route Kutná Hora- Kostelec nad Černými lesy. Vysoká Hill, on which the lookout tower is built, has an altitude of 472 meters.


The place where the lookout tower stands today was not deserted even before in history. There used to be a chapel of St. John the Baptist, which, however, burned down on April 30, 1816 as a result of a lightning strike. Between the two world wars, a wooden tower and later a concrete tower were built here, which was used for measuring purposes. The concrete tower has been preserved to this day, but it is not open to the public. In addition, you would also find here a torso of a monastery, which was built by Count Spork. The transmission mast has been here since 2001.


The land in Vysoká was bought and owned by the local town hall, which at the time when Český mobil was planning to build a mast here, made the condition that the building must also serve as a lookout tower.
The construction project was prepared by Ing. Josef Bárta realization took place in the summer of 2001. Tower

was to be opened on September 14, 2001, but due to the postponed approval, the date of the grand opening was postponed until April 30, 2002. The lookout tower immediately gained popularity among tourists, as evidenced by the high number of visitors. By the end of the year, about four thousand tourists were enjoying the view from the lookout tower.


On the lookout tower it is possible to buy postcards, tourist stamps and other souvenirs.
