Interesting facts Na Pepři lookout tower

The iron lookout tower is located on the Pepř hill at a distance of about 1 km from Jílové u Prahy towards the southwest. It is about 20 km south of Prague.

The lookout tower is located at an altitude of 449 meters. Its total height is 30.7 meters and a total of 91 steps lead to the viewing platform. From a height of 18 meters, in which the accessible platform is located, there is a beautiful view of the nearby Jílová near Prague, the Cukrák and Votice transmitter, Prague, Konopiště, the Benešov Hills and Posázaví.

From Jílové u Prahy you can get to Pepř along the red tourist trail, which is called Jílovské zlaté doly and starts and ends on Jílovské náměstí.
From the opposite side, there is access to Pepř from Horní Studená. It is an educational trail about 1 km long, turning left from Horní Studená. The road to the lookout tower is also accessible by car.

The lookout tower is freely accessible all year round.

The Pepři Tower, which serves as a transmitter and lookout tower at the same time, was opened to the public in 2007. The construction was carried out by T-Mobile and Vodafone.

The lookout tower on Pepři near Jílové near Prague was intended to be built by the vice-chairman of the Association of Natives and Friends of Jílové, Mr. Troníček, in 1927. His designs show a 21-meter-high lookout tower with a floor 15 meters above the ground. At that time, the lookout tower was to include an annex serving guards and tourists. However, the implementation never took place.

However, the lookout tower was built on this site, albeit 80 years later. Oskar Mobil initially wanted to have its station built here. Representatives of the city, which owns the land on Pepři, agreed with the proposal, provided, however, that the tower will also serve as a lookout tower. The construction was carried out in the autumn of 2006 by GES. In October of the following year, the tower was approved and opened to the public.
