Lookout tower in Doubrava near Vizovice

The lookout tower, which also serves as a mobile operator's transmitter, lies at an altitude of 667 meters and its total height is 55 meters. The viewing platform is located at a height of 33.5 meters and leads to a total of 177 steps. From here there is a nice view of the White Carpathians, Vizovice Highlands or Hostýn Hills. With good visibility you can see the Tatras.

You can easily get to the lookout tower, for example, by car. The lookout tower is located about 1 km from the road that connects Slavičín and Vizovice. You can park in the parking lot between Vizovice and Loučka. Then head about half a kilometer along the blue tourist sign to the top of the Doubrava hill.
If you go here on foot, you can use the educational trail Vizovické springs. It can be found in the city center and the lookout tower is about 7 km away.

During March, October and November, the lookout tower is open on weekends and public holidays from 10 am to 4 pm.
During April, May and September, you can also get here on weekends and public holidays, from 10:00 until 17:00.
During the summer holidays, it is open on Wednesdays, Fridays, weekends and public holidays from 10 am to 5 pm.
The lookout tower is usually closed in case of bad weather!

The local lookout tower was built here by T-Mobile. The building also serves as a transmitter and structurally it is a standardized mast. It was built in the autumn of 2002. However, it is not the first building located on the Doubrava ridge. In the first half of the last century, a wooden lookout tower stood on this site, which was demolished during the 1950s due to its poor technical condition.

The current lookout tower is built on the land of the Malinová stráň Forest Cooperative. This is what imposed on the company the condition that the tower must be equipped with an observation deck and thus serve as a lookout tower.

The building was officially opened for tourists on July 17, 2004. There is also a snack bar by the lookout tower.
