Miloňová lookout tower near Velké Karlovice

The lookout tower is wooden, located on the Miloňová hill, about 6 km northeast of Velké Karlovice and about 35 km east of Vsetín. It is located at an altitude of 846 meters and was opened only in October 2012.

The lookout tower with a total height of 24 meters has an observation platform located at a height of 20 meters. The lookout tower is freely accessible without restrictions and all year round.

You can get to the lookout tower by following the green tourist sign, which starts in the Lésková valley. However, you can connect to this circuit above the Lanterna Hotel at the crossroads or from the Galik ski slope, from where it is about 2 km to the lookout tower. The lookout tower has a stone base and a shingle roof. It is located on the Miloňová hill, only since 2012. The local town hall and the company Lesy ČR took part in the construction, which also invested in the construction. The current lookout tower serves not only tourists, but also local foresters, who can control fire safety in the local Karlovy Vary valleys.

Spruce wood was used as a material for the construction. The foundations are made of reinforced concrete and its floor plan is hexagonal. The project was developed by architect Antonín Závada from the ARSTAV company. The cost of its acquisition climbed to 1.2 million crowns.
The lookout tower was officially opened in September 2012 and was inaugurated on October 20, 2012.
