Vartovna lookout tower near Seninka

This building is located on the hill Vartovna, about 2 km east of the village Seninka and about 10 km south of Vsetín. Its base is stone and the steel structure carries wooden elements. It is located at an altitude of 651 meters and was officially opened in 2009.

The total height of the building is 38 meters and a total of 213 steps lead to the viewing platform. From here there is a beautiful view of the Vizovice hills, Vsetín and Hostýn hills, Beskydy, Chřiby, Javorníky, Mala Fatra and more.

You can get to the lookout tower, for example, following the yellow tourist sign from Seninka, from where it is about 2 km. You can also connect to the blue tourist sign leading from Pozděchov to Vsetín. The green tourist sign then connects Liptál and Valašská polanka and also leads through the lookout tower.

During June and September, the lookout tower is open on weekends and public holidays between 10 am and 6 pm. During the summer holidays you can get here daily except Mondays. You can buy snacks, postcards and souvenirs right at the lookout tower.

Tourists have been able to visit the local lookout tower since the end of 2009. However, the lookout plan has been incorporated into the village's zoning plan since 1996. Previously, there was supposedly a voice in case of a Turkish invasion. The surrounding villages of Seninka, Jasenná, Lesovec, Liptál, Pozděchov, Prlov and Valašská Polanka came up with a proposal to build a lookout tower on Vartovna. In 2007, the Zlín Regional Authority provided a subsidy for its construction and subsequently a total of five companies were contacted, which were to prepare project documentation and a design of the lookout tower. In the end, the project of architect Ivan Bergmann from Zlín was chosen.

The construction of the lookout tower took place from April to November 2009. The ceremonial tapping of the foundation stone of the lookout tower took place on July 9, 2009.
