Interesting facts Nine rocks

Not only the view, but also the rock formation of an interesting division attracts tourists to conquer it and perhaps that is why several tourist marked trails lead to the top. The simpler one, which is great for families with small children, for example, leads from the village of Křižánky to the forest, where there is a smaller car park, from which you have to walk towards the Nine Rocks. The individual hiking trails literally converge radially towards the top.

The very top of the Nine Rocks has the character of a large rock system, consisting of three long ridges, nine towers and three smaller turrets. The rocks are formed by migmatic and biolitical gneiss, which was formed in this way due to the process of frost weathering in the period of the older Quaternary, in the form of nine larger and three smaller formations - and this is where the name Nine Rocks originated. The individual walls reach a height of up to 15 m and the main rock is undoubtedly worth the hike just because of the feeling of having the whole Vysočina in the palm of your hand!

Approximately 2 km from the Nine Rocks there is an interesting gneiss formation called Bílá skála, formed by numerous overhangs and perhaps that is why it is so popular with climbers. In addition, it is also a nesting ground for peregrine falcons. Those who do not mind more demanding routes surrounded by the beauty of Czech rocks, can set off to the surrounding peaks of Malínská skála, Drátenička or Lisovské skály and others.
