Interesting facts Travný - Beskydy

Road to Travny

Travný Peak does not have any facilities for tourists or restaurants where pedestrians could refresh themselves, and perhaps that is why it is not such a popular place in the Beskydy Mountains, such as Radhošť.

The hike to the top is quite steep, no matter where you go from, and on the way up you will have to overcome an elevation gain of about 800 meters. In summer, blueberries grow here and in nice weather there is a nice view of Lysá hora.

• From the village of Krásná you can go to Travný along the yellow route and from Pražma follow the blue trail. The total length of the route is about 5 km.
• From Morávka there is a marked tourist path leading to Travný zelena and from the crossroads Velký Travný there is a blue path. The total length of the route is about 6 km.
• From the Municipality of Pražmo, it also leads to Travný cesta, which is approximately 6 km long and is marked with a blue tourist sign.

Travný Nature Reserve

Travný Nature Reserve is located on the western slope of the peak and covers an area of almost 155 hectares. The beginning of the reservation is on the banks of the river Mohelnice (at an altitude of about 530 m above sea level) and ends at an altitude of 1,203 m above sea level. We can observe how the character of the local forests is changing: at the lowest altitudes it is mostly beeches, followed by spruces and spruce beeches. At the highest altitude, mostly cane spruces grow and kneel here and there.
