Interesting facts The Devil's Heads Želízy

How to get here?

The journey by car to Devil's Heads is quite easy. From Mělník, head in the direction of Česká Lípa to Želíz, Liběchov or Tupadel, depending on where you come from. The easiest way to Devil's Heads is from Liběchov and Želíz, due to the fact that in Tupadly it is slightly more problematic to find a tourist sign.

How can a trip be conceived?

As a journey by car - it is more comfortable, you move between the individual statues by car, but you will probably miss some of them
On foot - the path is about 16 km long, it is a longer pleasant walk through the forest, during which you will have the opportunity to see all the statues of Vaclav Levy
To the statues of Václav Levý

If you go to the place from Želíz, you will follow the blue sign with a steep climb and signs of the "Devil's Head".

 Devil's heads - these are heads carved into sandstone, about 10 meters high. People most often liken their appearance to devils, but they may remind you of a witch or a waterman. You may also think of the resemblance to the heads of the four presidents in Mount Rushmore, of course, only remotely, of course. After all, American presidents are much more realistic.

If you continue along the blue sign, you will reach Želízi. The yellow tourist sign will take you to Harfenica and Had.

Harpice and Snake - these are reliefs of four human heads and a woman with a harp, near which is a nine-meter Snake.
At the Hada statue, you can either continue along the marked circuit, or go about 3 km to the cave of robbers. However, the journey is not difficult at all.

Mordloch and the Seven Breads - Compared to other local statues of Václav Levý, these are a bit more modest, but interesting. Mordloch is a robber cave and just a short distance away you will see the rock block Seven Breads.
In the last phase of the trip, you will probably find the most beautiful local work of Václav Levý, the richly decorated Klácelka cave.

Klácelka and Blaník - Blaník is a space by a cave, which is decorated with reliefs of famous personalities of Czech history, such as Prokop Holý or Jan Žižka. There are also dwarves who create weapons for the Knights of Blanice.
Inside Klácelka there are scenes from a poem by František Matouš Klácel, Ferina Lišák.
