The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise

The Golden Trail has been one of the most effective and popular hiking trails in the Bohemian Paradise for many decades. The total length of the trail is 119 kilometers (although, as for the source, it's a different figure) and leads from Jičín to Mladá Boleslav. This trail passes through a beautiful landscape, overcomes various valleys, rock towns, hills, streams and even medieval castles, and passes through pine forests with romantic panoramas of the distant surroundings.

Interesting facts The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise

This hiking trail was created in the middle of the 19th century thanks to the Club of Czech Tourists and the activities of the famous Czech traveler Vojtěch Náprstek. However, the name did not appear until 1937. Over the years, the trail has undergone several changes, as sand was mined here, roads were built and the soil changed.

The golden trail is marked in red and looks like this:

Jičín - Railway - Tábor - Kozákov - Besedice - Malá Skála - Frýdštejn - Turnov - Valdštejn - Hrubá Skála - Ruins - Dolní Mlýn - Nebákov - Kost - Reservoirs - Drábské světničky - Valečov - Mnichovo Hradiště - Bakov nad Jizerou - Mladá Boleslav

Along the trail you will find castles and chateaux: Valečov, Kost, Trosky, Hrubá Skála chateau, Drábské světničky, Valdštejn and Frýdštejn castles. There are also lookout towers and hills Mužský, Kozákov, Tábor and Kopanina. You can get here very easily from all sides. There are very good connections here both by buses and trains. The route is also open for cars and bicycles. Along the entire length of the Golden Trail you will find a wide range of accommodation and restaurant facilities. You can stay here in camps, guesthouses, in private, in cottages, in hotels, but even directly in castles (for example in Kosti) or in castles (Hrubá Skála). Places on the Golden Trail are very popular due to very romantic weddings. Throughout the year, many interesting events, cultural events and festivals take place here.
