To the ZOO by car, train, bus, on foot or by bike

You can reach the zoo by car, parking is across the road. The town of Hluboká nad Vltavou is located on the route between České Budějovice and Týn nad Vltavou. However, you can also get to the ZOO by bus or train. If you choose the bus, get off at the stop Hluboká nad Vltavou, Lovecký zámek, crossroads to the ZOO. If you travel by train, you will get off at the station Hluboká nad Vltavou or Hluboká nad Vltavou - Zámostí. From Hluboká itself, you can also go to the ZOO on foot, take a pleasant walk. Not far from the ZOO there is a bike path.

You will take away many experiences from the originally small ZOO

The once tiny zoo has grown considerably over the years. It now breeds 300 species of animals, originating mainly from Europe and the temperate Asian belt. There are also animals and nature from Australia, America or Africa.

Not far from the cash register you will come across prairie dogs and kangaroos, if you go further, you will see bears, wolves or otters. You will be able to admire fallow deer, various species of birds, goats, llamas, sheep, donkeys, lemurs, foxes and many other animals. A novelty of 2013 is a wolverine and a tiger.

A place suitable for families with children

The whole ZOO is designed so that families with children and parents with prams can walk comfortably. You can fit comfortably everywhere and the terrain is well-groomed. A walk around the Ohrada ZOO is very pleasant also due to its own location - along the Munich pond. In addition, from some parts of the ZOO you will have a beautiful view directly on the Hluboká chateau.

Refreshments and playground

In addition to a tour of the individual pavilions and exhibitions, you can also refresh yourself in the ZOO. During the season, various stalls are open with ice cream and other snacks. Throughout the year you can use the services of a local restaurant, which is built at the end of the zoo itself. There is a large wooden playground next to the restaurant. Another children's playground can be found right at the main entrance to the ZOO.

Each of us can really visit the zoo. It offers plenty of opportunities for the older ones to relax, while for the younger ones there are many alleys to run between the individual expositions and it will offer everyone interesting experiences in observing the life of animals without distinction. If you want, you can also adopt your favorite pet.

You can go to the ZOO at any time during the year, you don't have to use only hot summer days. Events around the Christmas holidays or Children's Day are interesting. However, a visit to the Hluboká nad Vltavou Zoo can be successful even on dry days. If you choose adequate clothing, you can really enjoy it here every day of the year.
