Interesting facts Castle ruins Frymburk

The building is unique with its massive tower. At the end of the 19th century, the walls bore the remains of battlements. Efforts to preserve the gem for future generations led Václav Barton of Dobenín to decide to begin its extensive repairs in 1940. This year is a certainty, but when did the castle actually be built? Historian A. Sedláček assumes that it was at the beginning of the 14th century. Others, on the other hand, go back to the time of Wenceslas II, at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, and mention it as an early Gothic castle. But who knows today where the whole truth is…

There is one legend attached to this stone gem. It is said that it was founded by an unknown princely daughter, who fled from her parents' reach due to a forbidden marriage. She had the workers involved in building their new home killed for fear of disclosure. The souls of these small, but very industrious workers in the form of permons are said to haunt the region to this day. One more thing is Nový Hrádek interesting. The inhabitants of the town are called "wooden cookers", because this kitchen craft has been practiced here since time immemorial. Its symbol is also a carved figure of Frymbulin - an elf from the castle - located on a charming small square.
