With children in the footsteps of the knight Toulovec, Toulovcovy Maštale
Do you like rocks, forests, beautiful nature? Have you found yourself around Litomyšl? If so, be sure to visit Toulovcovy Maštalí. You can find them near the villages of Budislav and Vranice, a few kilometers from the beautiful town of Litomyšl.

Nature, rocks, forests and a march
Those who have been here will be reminded of the magical nature with forest and various rock formations. The locals will probably remember the annual Toulovce Knight's March, an event that always takes place on the last Saturday (morning) in September - you will be able to choose one of the three different length routes from the village of Vranice on the day of the march. The shortest, 8 km, is also suitable for families with small children. A more stable pram suitable for terrain can handle the journey. If you choose a backpack or a stretcher for a child, it will be the best ever. With older children you can go on a 16 km long route and with the biggest ones on a 30 km march.
Routes suitable for families with children
However, you can also choose from routes outside the march:
Bor u Skutče - Vranice - Toulovcovy Maštale
From Bor, follow the red sign to Vranice, along the way you will be able to climb the hill to Dudych's Cave. From Vranice you will then go through the Džberk well to Toulovcovy Maštali. This route is 3.7 km long and can be reached with children in less than 2 hours.
Vranice - Toulovcovy Maštale - Budislav
From Vranice, follow the red road to Toulovcovy Maštale, from there follow the yellow markings to the rock town called Městské Maštale, then follow the yellow road along the edge of the forest and the road to Budislav. You will walk 5 km on this route, so expect 2-3 hours with children.
Bor u Skutče - Columbus' eggs - Polanka - Nové Hrady
In Bor, follow the red direction in the direction of the Polanka cottage. On the way it is possible to visit a rock formation called Columbus's Egg (turning on the red road about 400 m to the left), then you will continue again on the red road to Polance. You can have a snack on Polance, the cottage also serves as a restaurant. From Polanka you will follow the red markings again, but this time along the road, to Nové Hrady, where you will be able to visit the chateau or the deer field. This route is 5 km long, so expect a 2-hour walk.
On each of the routes you will find interesting rock formations, colorful nature and an overall nice walk, ideal for children of any age.
