Veselý Kopec, Svobodné Hamry and Betlém Hlinsko

Veselý Kopec is part of the Vysočina Folk Architecture Ensemble. In addition, you can also visit the settlement of Svobodné Hamry with a Baroque chateau from the 17th century and the Betlém Hlinsko monument reserve with timbered houses from the second half of the 18th century. The whole set can be found near Hlinsko. You can get here by car, there is plenty of parking space.

Especially together

You can visit Veselý Kopec and Betlém Hlinsko separately, or for a discounted entrance fee, both monuments together. Notice: The Svobodné Hamry exhibition is closed in 2013. In addition to children, you can also take your dog, but only with a muzzle and on a leash.

Cheerful Hill and the daily life of peasants

Veselý Kopec as a settlement was founded in the first half of the 16th century. Today's Veselý Kopec includes exhibitions that document the work and personal lives of small farmers from the first half of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century. In addition to the village buildings, the interior of which you will be able to see, you will also find monuments of a technical nature, such as a grain water mill.

A place suitable for families with children

Veselý Kopec is very much in favor of families with children, for children there are various events, fun and educational quizzes, demonstrations of bobbin-making, sawing, meeting with an artistic blacksmith and many other activities. In October, there is traditionally a so-called potato Saturday, an event where you can learn information about growing and storing potatoes, but also taste traditional potato dishes, or take recipes for them.

Together with your children, you can embark on an expedition to learn about the (un) ancient past and learn interesting information about the life and work of the locals on your own or together with a guide. In Bethlehem Hlinsko you can choose from two sightseeing tours:

- 1st circuit - craft dwellings
- 2nd circuit - exhibition of carnival processions and masks from Hlinsko, UNESCO

The whole area is suitable for everyone, including families with smaller children, the school will have the greatest benefit for school children, or for students. Bethlehem Hlinsko is open all year round and Veselý Kopec from the end of April to October.
