Interesting facts Pajrek (ruins)

You can get to Pajrek by a path starting under the forest, a short distance behind another interesting gem - the natural theater. You will go up the hill and you will climb a few tens of meters. Then you find yourself on a path that turns to the inhabited part. You will go around several houses and head to the forest again according to the arrow. You will walk to the ruins after a quarter of a kilometer. It dates from the 14th century and its existence is connected with a number of owners. One of many were, for example, Něpr z Pajreku, Racek z Janovice, Jindřich Kostomlatský from Vřeskovice or Jan Koc from Dobrše. The penultimate Jindřich became infamous for repairing the castle, originally intended for demolition, but for inhabiting paws and other unfair elements. Eventually, as one of them, he ended up beheading in 1520 on a Prague gallows. The last attempt at repair was to take place after 1918, when the then owners of nearby Bystřice Hohenzollern considered it. However, only words remained. The dilapidated castle eventually discouraged the nobles from these efforts.

The whole seat had a defensive character and defended the country path. The square tower was of the greatest importance. Trenches protected the homestead from two sides and were carved directly into the rock. In the same way, its owners could not save several defeats, especially from the Bavarian enemies.

Pajrek Castle belongs to the small pearls of antiquity, but it does not detract from its charm. Isn't it beautiful to sit for a while with a basket of mushrooms among the mysterious walls on which our ancient ancestors left their prints?
