Interesting facts With children exploring and having fun in the Pilsen Zoo

Pilsen Zoo is not just animals

In the Pilsen Zoo you have more options - in one place it combines a zoological and botanical garden (its official name is the Zoological and Botanical Garden Pilsen), or you can visit the neighboring Dinopark.

The price of the ticket is different, but also where it will be best to park for your family. If you only want to go to DinoPark, it will be best if you park in the Vinice housing estate, because there is a north gate where you can buy a ticket just for DinoPark (of course you can go through the same gate if you want to visit Dinopark and the ZOO).
However, if you decide to visit only the ZOO, it will be better if you go to the address Pod Vinicemi 9 to the main, ie southern, box office.

Sightseeing routes

When visiting both gardens, zoological and botanical, you can be inspired by the offered sightseeing routes.

The red circuit, called In the Footsteps of Man, the green circuit Against the Current of Time and the black circuit of Gondwana will perfectly introduce you to the whole area. The last route is the least challenging and leads through the center of the ZOO, you will meet turtles, penguins, kangaroos, chimpanzees and walk through a greenhouse with succulents.

ZOO Plzeň is thematically divided into individual areas:

In the Australian region, for example, the brown emu, parma kangaroo, black swan or Horn's monitor lizard are interesting.

In the Nearctic region, you can see the American alligator, the striped-tailed rattlesnake, the prairie dog, the Canadian lynx, the beautiful tortoise and many others.

In the Oriental region, there is a deer antelope, an Indian goose, a tiger python, an Indian rhino, some species of turtles and much more.

The Ethiopian region offers, among others, such as the Sudanese cheetah, the royal python or the apprentice chimpanzee.

In the Palearctic you will find the white stork, the Ussuri tiger, but also the bipedal camel.

In the Neotropical region, a small caiman, various species of corals, tamarins and a maned wolf await.

There are, of course, many more animals to see here, the ZOO Plzeň is really huge and there is something to look at in every corner of it.

Other options

You can also use many other services, in the season take a train ride, learn from the nature trail or have a snack, in several places.

We can boldly recommend, for example, the KIBOKO restaurant in the African style, which is also suitable for families with small children and prams thanks to its barrier-free entrance and non-smoking ban. You can treat yourself to a variety of hot meals at the service counter, and the restaurant also has a changing room.

Refreshments can also be enjoyed in the Tropical Pavilion (main buffet), in the Siberian Log Cabin or in the Lüftnerka Restaurant.

Ideal for the whole family

In the Pilsen ZOO, practically everyone can do their thing and it is always full of families with children, including the smallest ones, who are still looking at the world from a pram. The whole area is passable for prams.

If you have not been to the ZOO Plzeň with your children yet, we can recommend it to you with a clear conscience. And if you've been here before, you'll surely agree. The zoo is also constantly being updated and prepares various news for its visitors, so you can discover something new with each visit.
