The mysterious past of the castle
Kyjov Castle was considered the largest of all castles in the region, which was to serve to protect trade routes. His past is shrouded in mystery. It reached a total height of about 40 meters, surrounded by ditches, fortifications and a wooden wall, and it was said that it was possible to reach it by carriage.
However, scientific research from the 1980s suggested that it was not a castle, but a housing estate that housed people who mined gold, iron ore and other metals in the area. Because mining was not very successful, people left and left Kyjov Castle desolate. However, this is only one of the variants.
