Kovozoo Old Town - The original world of metal animals
Original, unique, engaging and informative - such and many other admirable attributes are definitely deserved by KOVOZOO in the Old Town near Uherské Hradiště. A visit to this only metal zoo in Europe will certainly be an unforgettable experience and a great lesson that even beautiful and useful things can be created from unnecessary waste. KOVOZOO can be found in the REC Group complex. The founder of KOVOZOO and at the same time the general director of the REC Group is Bronislav Janeček, who also created many of the exhibits. The area is located directly on the main road from Brno to Uherské Hradiště and you will definitely not miss it, as you can see a license plate from a distance - the Šrotík lighthouse.

Next to it stands the pirate ship Naděje, which will appeal to children and adults alike. For adventurous people, the possibility of accommodation in her cabin is offered, which could be an interesting gift for little pirates. You can walk to the top of the lighthouse with one ticket and see the surroundings from above. In the zoo itself, over 180 animals made of scrap metal, as well as other waste, are waiting for you. They are all life-size and many will literally surprise you with their realism. You will find small and large animals from all over the world. You can admire a lion enclosure, a large bison, a beautiful gorilla, cute penguins, an agile cheetah, kangaroos, birds, turtles, crocodiles or rhinos. The animals are supplemented with information boards describing their living models as in a real zoo. Every year there is a competition for the best produced animal from scrap metal, in which the general public can participate in the event Children and KOVOZOO.
The finished products are then part of the zoo. KOVOZOO is open all year round, but from November to March only on weekdays, but free of charge. Out of season, however, the ship and the lighthouse are closed for security reasons. In the season from April to October you can see everything every day for a complete entrance fee.
