Holašovice, located approximately 15 km west of České Budějovice, is situated in the region known as South Bohemian Blata, which is known for its village character, picturesque villages and even more picturesque buildings, in the case of Holašovice built in the rustic Baroque style. Not only the Holašovice buildings themselves, but also their sensitive placement in the landscape will be exactly what will enchant you.

The origin of Holašovice dates back to the 13th century. The unique feature is the floor plan and the structure of the village, which has been practically preserved to this day, and which is a great proof of medieval urbanism.

Peasant Baroque is considered an independent building style, which dates back to the period between 1840 and 1880. The model for the local masons were churches and manors, while many elements of these buildings were copied in the estates in Holašovice. While walking along the village square in Holašovice, you will undoubtedly be captivated by the integrity of the entire set of buildings.

During July, there are regular Peasant festivities here, which are usually attended by over two hundred craft artists offering their original products. The festivities last for three days and have the character of a folk fair, which also includes demonstration events focused on folk crafts, heligon performances, horseback riding and other events.
