The lookout tower is located at an altitude of 835 meters, its total height is 50 meters and the viewing platform is located at a height of 29.5 meters. A total of 152 steps lead up to it and you will have a beautiful view of the Ore and Doupov Mountains, Chodov, Slavkov Forest, Ašsko and more.

You can get to the lookout tower, for example, from the end of Hrušková following the local markings to Krudum. The road is about 3 km long and the yellow tourist sign will also take you to the lookout tower.
Another road leads from the south from the defunct settlement of Milíře. Here it turns right from the road connecting Vítkov and Podstání. A green tourist sign also leads to the lookout tower from here.

From the beginning of April to the end of October, the lookout tower is freely accessible and open daily without restrictions. The lookout tower is usually closed or it is forbidden to enter it in bad weather or during a storm.

Krudum is a mystical mountain near the settlement of Hrušová in the Sokolovská region, which is also sometimes called "Chrudim". There are many legends related to it and the first lookout tower was built here between the two world wars. She was 10 meters high and was called Kempfova after Andreas Kempf, a doctor who came from solitude near Krásno. It was opened on September 11, 1932. After the Second World War, however, the lookout tower served military purposes, was not even minimally maintained, and so fell into disrepair until it had to be demolished in the 1970s.

The construction of a new lookout tower on this hill was taken care of in 2001 by the company Krudum a spol., But unfortunately their plan did not work out due to lack of funds.

In 2005, the Czech Telecommunication Office made an effort to build its mast on Krudum Hill, which would serve as a monitoring station. The Regional Authority of the Karlovy Vary Region and the town of Loket agreed with the idea that the transmitter should also serve as a lookout tower. However, the Czech Tourists Club did not agree with this, which was mainly bothered by the planned standardized and unsightly building. However, the construction was still promoted, so it started in 2008.

At present, its operation is taken care of by the Loket city forests.
